Local Evaluation

Some sites that use Project TND may want to conduct a local evaluation of the program. Before you begin your evaluation, you need to develop a plan for the design, timing of survey administration, and data analysis.

Overall, if possible, we recommend that you conduct a pre-post evaluation design that includes a comparison group. Inclusion of a comparison group is the best way to increase confidence that Project TND led to the desired changes in substance use, substance use intentions, program-specific knowledge, and beliefs. Testing both program and comparison groups before the program indicates both how much change occurred over the course of the program and how comparable both groups were before the program.
